Starting from Farra di Soligo, follow trail no.3 along the right bank of the Rui Stort, walking through an evocative environment between high conglomerate walls. You’ll reach the small waterfall of Gor della Cuna and then the “Casetta” in the Vanal area. Via Alpine route no.4, follow a section of the Sentiero delle Vedette (Lookout Trail) heading east, passing through Forcella Xocco, Pian Serafin, Colesie, and Col Vinal. Then, right after Forcella San Martino, descend through the vineyards on the Sentiero delle Crepe. After circling Col della Porchera, the loop closes back in Farra di Soligo.
Porchera Variant
Shortly after taking the Sentiero delle Crepe, you reach the foot of Col della Porchera. The summit of this hill (291 m) has an unusual plateau shape and can be reached in just a few minutes via a country road. At the top, where the view extends over Farra di Soligo and Quartier del Piave, two cypress trees stand tall next to a cross, restored by the Farra di Soligo Alpine Group on April 13, 2020. The Porchera is of great archaeological interest, as it appears to have been the site of an ancient hillfort, now vanished. The place name suggests the existence, in ancient times, of an enclosure for keeping pigs.
